General description of the situation. Russia launched a war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022 (33rd day of the war). They began with a rocket-bomb attack on 17 Ukrainian cities, first on military infrastructure and now on civilian infrastructure.
Today, March 28, the thirty-third day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion has begun.
In the Volyn direction there is a possibility of involvement of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus in the aggression against Ukraine. Air reconnaissance continues in the areas of Kovel, Varash, Sarny. Iskander missiles are being transported by road to the Kalinkovichi settlement area.
In the Polissya direction (Chernobyl) the enemy did not carry out active offensive actions. Regrouping and withdrawal of individual units from the territory of Kyiv region continues.
The enemy did not carry out offensive operations in the Seversky direction (Chernihiv).
In the Slobozhansky direction (Kharkiv), the enemy abandoned the offensive near the city of Sumy, trying to regroup and withdraw units to other directions. Defensive battles continue in the areas of Topolske, Kamyanka, Sukha Kamyanka, Kharkiv region. In the direction of the city of Izium, the occupiers tried to conduct offensive operations.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy focused its efforts on taking control of the settlements of Popasna, Rubizhne and Novotroitskoye. There is no success in capturing the city of Mariupol. The enemy carried out artillery and mortar shelling of the settlements of Toretske, Svitlodarsk, Troitskoye, and Pisky. The main goal of the occupiers remains to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In the Tavriya direction, Rosguard units continue to carry out filtration measures in the temporarily occupied territories in the Kherson region.
In the South Bug direction, the enemy’s position and actions remained unchanged. The main efforts of the Defense Forces of Ukraine are focused on the organization of defense activities in the cities of Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhia and Mykolayiv, the maintenance of certain areas of the sea coast, protection and defense of critical infrastructure.
In the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian army drove out the Russian occupiers from the villages of Husarivka and Olkhovka. Also, Mala Rohan is completely under the control of the Armed Forces and “cleansed” of occupiers. In the Zaporizhia region, terrorists liberated two villages, Poltavka and Malynivka, from the occupiers.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that some Ukrainian sailors from Snake Island had died, some had been taken prisoner and replaced by Russian servicemen.
In the evening of March 27, powerful explosions took place in Kyiv and Cherkasy region. In the evening, eyewitnesses also reported explosions in Lutsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv.

Cases of resistance from the local population
In the temporarily occupied Henichesk region of Kherson region, people set fire to a military enlistment office that had previously been seized by the Russian occupiers.
In the temporarily occupied Kherson, people gathered for a rally near the Kherson Regional State Administration building, chanting “Kherson is Ukraine!”. The Russian military instead opened fire on protesters and threw smoke bombs.
Residents of the temporarily occupied Nova Kakhovka (Kherson region) once again came out in support of Ukraine.
Civilian casualties
As of the morning of March 27, 2022, 139 children were killed and more than 205 wounded in the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The most affected children were in Kyiv region
– 65 people. 19 children were killed in Zaporizhia. This was reported in the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.
Lyudmila Denisova said that the Russian invaders were carrying out a mass deportation of the population of the occupied territories of Ukraine.
