The situation in Ukraine on March 15, 2022

General description of the situation. Russia launched a war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022 (20th day of the war). They began with a rocket-bomb attack on 17 Ukrainian cities, first on military infrastructure and now on civilian infrastructure.

Today, March 15, the twentieth day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion has begun.

The enemy continues to use aircraft to support ground forces and destroy military and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

In Kyiv, Russian units fired on the Antonov plant and the largest shopping and entertainment center, Lavina Mall. Also, the wreckage of a rocket launched by the Russian occupiers aimed at the Kurenivka district of the capital, as a result of which the building caught fire.

Bombs and missiles are regularly dropped on Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Mariupol.

In the Kharkiv region, near the city of Izyum, the Ukrainian military counterattacked. As a result, Russian forces were repulsed, so the enemy planned to strengthen the grouping of troops of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv direction.

In the Polissya direction, the Olyshkiv underground gas storage facility was damaged as a result of shelling by the Russian troops in the Chernihiv region of the village of Olyshivka.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy did not abandon attempts to surround Sumy and waged active hostilities. The enemy continues to shoot at the homes of civilians with artillery, destroying critical and civilian infrastructure.

As a result of hostilities in the Donetsk region, the Karlovy Vary filter station was de- energized, leaving more than 200,000 residents of the region without water.

In the Avdiivka direction in the area of n.p. Kamyanka, during the reconnaissance battle, the occupiers suffered significant losses and were forced to withdraw. However, they fired on the Avdiivka coke plant from Gradiv, which stopped the city’s heating supply.

About 400 Russian servicemen, 50 units of military equipment and ammunition with weapons are currently stationed on the territory of Zaporizhzhya NPP. The occupiers blew up part of the ammunition on the site of the Zaporizhzhya NPP near the first power unit and the destroyed training center.

The enemy is trying to capture Mariupol. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repulsed the attacks of the invaders. After the losses, the occupiers stopped the offensive and retreated.

The formation of additional occupation units to conduct hostilities on the territory of Ukraine continues. In order to replenish units, conscripts are urged to move to contract service. Evidence of possible preparation of a chemical attack against Ukraine has been revealed.

during the battle with Russian troops near Staromlynivka, Donetsk region, a large number of occupiers were killed. Among the documents received by the Russian military was a certificate of an officer of the Russian Armed Forces of narrow specialization, who according to the documents served in the “Federal Office for Safe Storage and Destruction of Chemical Weapons” in Penza, and graduated from the Saratov Military Institute of Biological and Chemical Safety.

Cases of resistance from the local population

Residents of Bilozerka (Kherson region) and Berdyansk (Zaporizhzhya region) went to rallies for Ukraine. Locals are blocking the roads of the Russian occupiers and demanding to go home.

A heroic incident occurred in Chernihiv region: a gang of occupiers broke into the house

of the head of the Ripkin Society of Hunters and Fishermen Anatoly Kulgeyko. They demanded lists of hunters for further repression. In response, Anatoly Ivanovich detonated a hand grenade. He died himself and destroyed several occupiers.

Civilian casualties

The Prosecutor General’s Office: since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, 90 children have been killed and more than 100 injured.

In the temporarily occupied territories, the Russians are persecuting priests of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, three chaplains were killed.

In the Izyum community in the Kharkiv region, Russian saboteurs are entering territory controlled by the Ukrainian military.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights reported that after the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine (February 24, 2022), 630 civilians were killed and 1,125 wounded on Ukrainian territory. The report notes that real losses may be higher (only documented losses are taken into account).

The enemy fired on a column of civilians evacuated from Gostomel. One person was killed and another was injured.
