General description of the situation. Russia launched a war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022 (16th day of the war). They began with a rocket-bomb attack on 17 Ukrainian cities, first on military infrastructure and now on civilian infrastructure.
Today, March 11, marks the sixteenth day of the Ukrainian people’s heroic confrontation with the Russian military invasion.
In the Polissya and Volyn directions, the defenders forced the enemy to retreat to positions unfavorable to him. The settlement of Baklanova Muraivka was liberated in the Seversky direction. Also in the northern direction, the enemy was stopped in an attempt to break through the defense of Chernihiv. In the area of the village of Shestovytsia (Chernihiv region), the occupiers are looking for a way to surrender. Further movement of the enemy in the direction of Brovary (Kyiv region) from the east is not excluded.
The defenders of Kyiv are firmly holding the borders, protecting the city’s critical infrastructure. The Ukrainian military liberated the village of Moshchun near Kyiv and repulsed an enemy attack. In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy continues unsuccessful attempts to blockade the city from the north. Rifle regiments formed at the expense of Russian reservists were involved in the fighting in the Kharkiv region.
In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the invaders are concentrating their efforts on capturing the Ukrainian cities of Mariupol and Severodonetsk.
In the Pivdennobuzsky direction, the invaders tried to gain a foothold on the achieved frontiers, establish control over the city of Mykolayiv, and develop an offensive in the directions of Zaporizhia and Kryvyi Rih. Also the chairman of the Nikolaev regional state administration reported that on border of the Kherson region and the Nikolaev region occupation troops try to negotiate with ZSU to leave the weapon, but to remain alive. According to the OP, over the past 15 days, between 500 and 700 Russian soldiers who fought against Ukraine have been taken prisoner.
In the Black Sea and Azov operational zones, weather conditions were on the Ukrainian side and forced the invaders’ ships to return to naval bases and bases.
The invaders focused their efforts on spreading misinformation and propaganda through all available news channels. With the help of cyber units and the federal media, the enemy is actively spreading misinformation about the activities of the top military and political leadership of Ukraine, creating and spreading fakes about the adoption of our country’s leadership, calls for a ceasefire and weapons by the Ukrainian military.
At the same time, information about the real state of affairs still reaches Russia. There are rumors among the military about the inability of the Russian Ministry of Defense to pay cash security due to sanctions, which demoralizes the personnel of the occupying forces.
During March 10, 38,000 people were evacuated from hotspots: 16,000 from Kyiv Oblast, 20,000 from Sumy Oblast, and 2,000 from Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast.
Russian occupiers continue to cynically shell Ukrainian cities. In particular, on the morning of March 11, a series of explosions took place in Lutsk, airfield, Dnipro, residential neighborhoods, Ivano-Frankivsk. In total, Russia launched 775 missiles.
In addition, on March 10, the enemy attacked the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, which houses an experimental nuclear reactor.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that no progress had been made in negotiations with the Russians in Turkey. According to Kuleba, they did not agree on any ceasefire and that Lavrov did not promise any humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of Mariupol residents. Several humanitarian corridors have opened in Ukraine on their own.
The European Council has instructed the European Commission to assess Ukraine’s application for EU membership. The discussions lasted 5 hours.
President Zelensky also stated the threat of provoking Russia with the use of chemical weapons, with further accusations against Ukraine.
