General description of the situation. Russia launched a war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022 (16th day of the war). They began with a rocket-bomb attack on 17 Ukrainian cities, first on military infrastructure and now on civilian infrastructure.

In the Polissya and Volyn directions, the defenders forced the enemy to retreat to positions unfavorable to him. The settlement of Baklanova Muraivka was liberated in the Seversky direction. Also in the northern direction, the enemy was stopped in an attempt to break through the defense of Chernihiv. In the area of the village of Shestovytsia (Chernihiv region), the occupiers are looking for a way to surrender. The defenders of Kyiv are firmly holding the borders, protecting the city’s critical infrastructure. The Ukrainian military liberated the village of Moshchun near Kyiv and repulsed an enemy attack. In the Pivdennobuzsky direction, the invaders tried to gain a foothold on the achieved frontiers, establish control over the city of Mykolayiv, and develop an offensive in the directions of Zaporizhia and Kryvyi Rih. Also the chairman of the Nikolaev regional state administration reported that on border of the Kherson region and the Nikolaev region occupation troops try to negotiate with ZSU to leave the weapon, but to remain alive. During March 10, 38,000 people were evacuated from hotspots: 16,000 from Kyiv Oblast, 20,000 from Sumy Oblast, and 2,000 from Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast.

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that no progress had been made in negotiations with the Russians in Turkey. According to Kuleba, they did not agree on any ceasefire and that Lavrov did not promise any humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of Mariupol residents. The European Council has instructed the European Commission to assess Ukraine’s application for EU membership. The discussions lasted 5 hours.
